In addition to my creative writing MFA, I have experience with reports, technical writing, and research papers. If you think your project might be a fit then give me a shout!

I like helping people and seeing that moment where things click together. Beyond that, I have broad interests making it easy to enjoy a broad variety of writing.

About the lesson

I feel it's important to get to know the student, their project, and their goals.

To that end, any meeting will start with some introductions. I know it's tempting to get right to work, but a few minutes to talk about interests will actually make the whole process easier. It's nice to draw on sports, jobs, world events, or history for examples.

From there it's important to talk about what we'll be working on, the content of tutoring sessions, and so on.

Once I know what content we'll be covering, I find it's useful to pick out areas to focus on. This can be as simple as specific lessons to cover in tutoring sessions to long term goals we can monitor.

All ages and all backgrounds. I mean that pretty literally. My workshops typically have a fifty-year age range from retirees looking for something new to younger writers still in school.

In South Korea, I taught age ranges 8-14.

For tutoring, I'm looking to work with high school and college students but may make an exception for interested clients.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It can be helpful to make a list of goals you want to work towards. That gives us a good foundation to work from.

Free Consultation or First Lesson.

$15/Hour for the first 3 months.

After that, I'm looking to raise the new client rate to $25/Hour, but I think I will keep the old clients grandfathered in at the old rate until as late as May 31, 2021
