About Connor
About me:
I have Passion for bettering young people, I've worked in many positions, from educator to youth coach, to help kids reach their potential. I believe in helping cultivate the "whole" person, from study skills to destressing techniques.
Experience:
Experience teaching from ages 6-18, including coaching, tutoring, and volunteer work in occupational therapy for youth with special needs.
Qualifications:
I am Currently a pre-medicine student at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in biological sciences and minoring in Spanish language. I graduated high school with a 3.85 GPA and was a member of the California scholarship federation, a national merit scholar, and an AP national honor scholar with distinguishment. I took and passed 8 AP classes across all subjects scoring 4 or better. I received a score of 33 on the ACT scoring a perfect 36 in the science and grammar sections. I am Safe Sport certified, and a level 1 US Sailing certified instructor, which is a certification of instructional skill in working with different learners, and presenting information in interesting and engaging ways

First and foremost, we set achievable and frequent goals. Studies have shown that academic growth accelerates when concrete, achievable goals are set beforehand. If the student has a book they are working on, I will research their textbooks, and organize supplemental work for sessions. If a student just needs help reviewing for an upcoming test, I will work with them to write practice tests and reviews for a more intensive preparation.

Details
I charge a $16-18 per hour rate, depending on the number of hours required weekly, any more than four hours per week will be $16, while less than 2 hours per week is $18 per hour.
In these troubling times of quarantine, I understand many students are in difficult financial situations, reach out to me, and we can work on a lower rate.
