About Charles
Hello everyone! My name is Charles Calli and I am currently a History major at the University of Florida. I graduated from Doctors Charter School of Miami Shores in 2020 with a 4.2 GPA while also taking classes at Barry University. While in high school, I passed the AP English Language Exam, AP World History Exam, and AP English Literature Exam. I pride myself in being an efficient communicator and teacher; my little sisters along with countless peers can attest to that. No matter the task, I will be committed to helping my students reach their goals.
There is no better feeling than helping students understand and truly grasp a topic that was previously too confusing or challenging. The sheer joy felt once that 'light bulb' moment occurs is priceless. In short, I simply enjoy being the person that can help a student get to where they need to be.
Working with my two little sisters really inspired me to get out there and help as many struggling students as I can! Seeing their faces light up is a feeling like no other. Knowing I played a role in their grasping of a concept is a priceless feeling.

First, I always begin by getting to know my student a little bit. Once we have talked for a while, I begin asking about the task at hand and how they feel about it. If they are struggling to grasp an overall concept, we will take a step back and take things slowly. I pride myself in being able to break concepts down, and show my student how simple some topics can be!
I have worked with students anywhere from first grade into eighth grade. I have assisted in english, social studies, writing, geography, science, and history with all of my students. However, I only assist in mathematics up to fifth grade.
Find a tutor you enjoy talking to. If you are struggling to write an essay or even complete a single worksheet, you need to feel comfortable with the person you are working with. Additionally, working with someone that is easy to talk to can make tutoring sessions fun!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should first understand what they need help with. They should be able to describe to the teacher what they are having trouble with in order to receive adequate help. Students should also ask themselves if they are willing to put the effort into receiving help because the student is ultimately responsible for their learning.

Details
My first session with any student will be a flat fee of ten dollars (no matter the duration.) Repeat sessions will be set at a rate anywhere from twelve to fifteen dollars an hour.
