About Suzie

Suzie Soloviev is an English tutor with an extensive background in teaching and theater. A Shakespeare specialist, she received her BA from Wellesley College and MA in Theatre Education from Emerson College. She has taught at schools and theaters in Massachusetts and New York state. In addition to tutoring, she runs a job hunt coaching business that specializes in helping job seekers to tell their stories boldly and clearly.

Both my parents were educators, and they started me tutoring their students from a young age. I started teaching by tutoring young non-native English speakers as a teenager, then ran drama programs at a summer camp through college. As an adult, I've taught all grade levels and ages.

I'm a trained educator who's taught at every level, K - graduate. I've taught English, History, Mandarin, and Theater. I like to say that I can teach anything to anyone, and I've proved it over the last 15 years.

About the lesson

My goal is for my students to fall in love with literature and writing, and allow it to come to life in their minds. We start with an intake call to establish goals and make sure it's a good fit. We agree to work together for a set amount of time, and set progress goals. I make sure throughout that you are enjoying the experience while still being pushed to deeper levels of comprehension.

I've taught in public, private, charter schools, and in theaters. I've taught kindergarten through graduate students. High schoolers are probably my favorite, but I love working with all ages.

Find someone who makes it feel like fun, and who won't let you give up. Theater teachers make the best English teachers!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out

Details

I charge $50 for a one-off session, and $40/lesson for a five session package, and $35/lesson for a ten session package.
