About Abigail

Hello! My name is Abby Tenters and my passion for English has been prevalent since I was just a little girl. I've always loved proofreading essays and correcting grammar. I currently work at a bookstore, but lately I have been wanting to branch out and do something closer related to what I want to do in the future. I am currently enrolled in University studying Secondary Education and English. I also won an award at my high school graduation for my Creative Writing class due to my enthusiasm towards writing. I am a great person to talk to if there’s something on your mind that could potentially be interfering with your studies, and would be more than happy to give you some friendly advice! If you're interested in getting some extra help, by all means, reach out; I'd be more than happy to help! My email is (concealed information)

I’ve always loved helping people and I hope one day to be an english teacher, so I felt as though this would be a great opportunity to continue with my passions without a college degree. Seeing others’ faces light up when they are able to understand something is precious and heartwarming! Knowing that I am making a difference in a students’ life reminds me that good exists in the world; we just have to look for it.

I graduated from a College Prepatory Private high school with honors and am now enrolled in University studying English and Secondary Education. I don’t currently have any degrees in Education, but I have had quite a lot of practice when it comes to writing essays or correcting grammar. My peers would frequently ask me to review their work before sending it in to our teachers because they knew I would be able to help them write the best essay they could write.

I like to get to know a student first to allow them to feel more comfortable when working on homework, essays, etc. I am nonjudgemental and do my very best to encourage my students to feel confident in their work. Sometimes they may not feel as accomplished as they would like, but that is why I am here to help! My goal is to help my students to feel proud of the outcome of their writing assignments.

I have worked with students ranging from 5-17 years old.

Look for someone you will feel most comfortable working with. Read the reviews, (if any) and choose a tutor that seems most suited to your individual needs.

I have recently had my high school graduation, and I’d say that it was my most fond recent event. Due to the coronavirus, a lot of my senior year had been cancelled. Our school organized a parade through our school to celebrate the class of 2020 and to receive our diplomas. I am most fond of this because it truly shows how resilient we can be. It has also brought out the more creative side of people to allow them to develop new ideas while in isolation. This year has taught me to be patient and to let life happen while you live it. I could not have expected anything better from the wonderful staff at my school under these uncertain times, and for that, I am so thankful.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1.) What subject do I need help with and what is this tutor most qualified for?

2.) Does this tutor’s qualifications match my needs?

3.) Will I feel comfortable working with this tutor?

4.) Am I able to afford this tutor, and if not, does he/she offer lower prices based on certain circumstances?
