About Michaela
My service stands out because I absolutely adore students who are learning and working hard to do better or just simply take advantage of their education. I am patient, and caring with students and accepting of all. I like to make my teaching lessons fun and memorable, most of all I like my students to leave feeling more confident and refreshed in a subject!
I enjoy meeting new students from different ages, backgrounds, and schooling systems. I love bonding with my students, hearing their stories, and helping them do better to succeed in their future aspirations!
I began teaching when I realized how much education is important and how much this generation has an impact on jobs, skills, and life itself. I always had a heart for children growing up and succeeding and successfully contributing to their lifestyle and future career so I love working with them, so I began teaching to help influence them and keep them on a great path!
I am a graduate student at Georgia State University working towards my Ph.D. in Psychology and a minor in Sociology. I have tutored for firms for over 3 years now, I also work with students one on one at the school.

I begin by getting to know the student and asking them kindly to tell me in a list what their weakest points in school are and their strongest points in school. I then help with homework, such as what they may have been assigned on that day and show them new strategies and skills to better understand what they are learning. I choose to work on the hardest subjects first then easiest as school criteria usually uses the harder subjects on tests and quizzes. I will also have nice chats with the student about their day at school or any new help they may need.
I have worked with students from as young as 3 years old to the college level. I work with mentally challenged students and those with reading disabilities or a slower learning pace.
I would look for a teacher that is warm and welcoming and has a lot of patience, patience is key as everyone's learning styles are different!
I am fond of a student I tutored for over several weeks who had struggled with her school life as she had a terrible car accident that took a toll on her memory and ability to function in school. My teaching and working with her everyday paid off, she got higher grades, better test scores, and was approved to move on to the next grade this summer!
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Students should think through all the subjects they are having a hard time in, and build a mental list of it so they can share it with their teacher to get the best help possible!
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the teacher
We worked on homework everyday, she was my tutor for almost 2 months and she helped me be a better test taker in school.
Mel helped me with my math homework, she did a few questions and then allowed me to do the rest with her guidance she then checked them with me and helped me correct my errors. She taught me a fun math song to remember my multiplication.
Mel worked with me on a school project that was due very soon because I was out sick with COVID. She helped me for a total of 2 hours and never lost her patience with me. She helped me form sentences, remove wordy phrases, spell check, and made me sound academically smarter with helpful english tips. I recommend her for any english course.
