About Elizabeth
I’m a licensed English Language Arts and Reading teacher who specializes in essay writing, including formulaic writing, different essay types, and reading comprehension. I enjoy helping students actually develop their writing skills by learning how to organize ideas, build strong arguments, and express their own thoughts clearly. I take pride in teaching students how to think and write independently, without relying on AI or shortcuts. A new service I have added is to help students understand how to explain and defend their writing process if a teacher questions their work. Many teachers use AI detectors to test if their students have used AI; unfortunately, these detectors are very inaccurate, often labeling authentic student work as AI. It is important that you be able to defend your writing. My goal is to help students grow into capable, confident writers who understand that the product is the skill learned. I tutor 7th grade through college.
