About Katie
As a kid, reading was very difficult for me, and it took a really long time to learn to love it. I went through about 20 tutors all with different styles of teaching throughout my childhood/teenage years. Now I enjoy helping students find a new, personalized way that they can actually progress in their reading and comprehension abilities. And I understand that it is different for everyone. I have helped many learn to love reading!
I got started in high school when I assisted the teachers in the special education department. And ever since then I've been teaching!

First I like to get to know them, everyone is different and has a different way of learning. Based off of what they are trying to accomplish I will give them some reading/ writing samples! Then I like to ask them questions at the end of each session about what they liked/ didn't like so that I can improve as a tutor. Each lesson is different and Tailored to the students needs.
I've worked with students from the age of 5 all the way up to freshman in high school!
