About Jordan
I have been an educator for 7 years and my experience is with students ranging from kindergarten to 3rd grade. I am reading and ESOL endorsed. I have taught 1st grade and 3rd grade reading, 2nd grade all subjects and kindergarten all subjects. I am highly trained in Phonics/Phonological Awareness. I really enjoy teaching the beginning reading skills because it is so critical to the continued growth and development of reading.
I enjoy helping students learn to read. I love doing small groups and utalizing different materials that will close gaps and help students feel more confident in their educational growth. A lot of my teaching experience comes from working with students who are 1-2 grade levels behind. I find small groups or one on one teaching to be so important in helping to bridge the gaps.

When working with a new student I like to gain as much knowledge about the student as possible. I like to speak with the parent to find out what their expectations are, I also like to speak with the student and get a better understanding of how I can help them. If it is possible to get feedback from their teacher that is especially helpful! Depending on the subject I'd like to do a pre-test just to see where I should begin my journey with the student.
