About Melissa

15 years experience teaching English Language Arts. A passion for making the student understand the difficulty of the English Language and learning to read, write, speak, and listen the language to get proficient or above in those skills

I enjoy seeing the "light bulb" come on when the student understands what it isthey are struggling with.

I got started teaching in 2007 and have been doing so ever since. I had wonderful teachers as I was going through school. They were my inspiration. My love for learning and seeing others learn help lead me to that career path.

I have a Bachelors of Science in Education. I have taught for 14 years grades K-8. I have an endorsement in English Language Arts and English to Speakers of Other Languages. I hold a teaching certificate in the state of Colorado.

About the lesson

i feel it is important to get to know the student as a person and academically through conversation and quick assessments.

I have worked with students in Title 1 setting most of my teaching career.
