About Dylan

I am a committed teacher who has worked with students of a variety of grade school ages. I love to read and hope to impart a passion for critical inquiry of texts to my students. As a student of Music and Sociology, I can help with students' reading and writing abilities, plus more specialized subjects across the humanities and social sciences.

In addition to just helping students achieve their short-term goals, I enjoy helping students foster their own creative impulses with material.

About the lesson

Typically I'll just meet the students where they're at, be it in music, reading, or other subjects. First it's important to make students feel accomplished by showing tangible improvement in their subject, then to help them expand their knowledge and ambition beyond what I can teach them in our sessions.

I've worked with students from fourth graders to adults.

Dylan met me exactly where I was with my playing and has worked hard to get me to the next level. Dylan has helped me with every aspect of my playing, and he doesn't just show me how to do it; he shows me why it works. Very musical guy. I'd highly recommend him!

He was really understanding of what I wanted to learn and gave me the right tools to do so. He’s also great at explaining musical concepts, even on Zoom the lesson was super helpful.

Dylan is incredibly patient with his students and his passion for the guitar is infectious –– Thank you Dylan! He also has a knack for sending just the right amount of informative music theory PDFs to gear up for our weekly lessons.

Very patient in teacher a beginner, made his teaching fun and wasn't harsh when I made mistakes. I'd recommend him to anyone wanting to learn an instrument! He helped me understand more music theory (I'm primarily a flutist but was learning piano from him) and now I'm even a better flutist!
