About Emily
I have a heavily English centered high school transcript and high standardized testing scores that demonstrate my ability and skill. I have also worked with preschoolers and young toddlers at home and at schools, on tasks ranging from homework to additional concentrated classes. I have also worked with my peers on high school assignments and essays, so I am well-versed in helping others when it comes to writing. In addition, I have been mentored and exposed to a variety of tutors who have helped me gather experience and build skills as a teacher.

I begin by getting to know the student and their individual learning needs. We work together to find a method that will work best for them, and from there on I design a specific and unique tutoring plan for them. We establish goals that we want to meet in our future sessions together and how we can work together to meet those goals. My approach as a teacher is to put the student and their learning first, so I put a lot of time and effort into listening to their educational needs and developing a teaching plan that works for both of us.
I have worked with a range of students and peers, from young children at the ages of 5 or 6 to peers my age, anywhere from 16-20 years old.
Make sure that your teacher is willing to listen to you and take into account your needs and opinions. They should be flexible and be able to adapt to your feedback. Students should be vocal about what helps them, and whether things are working or not.
