About Opal
Hello!
Welcome to ToutLang Tutoring Service. My name is Opal Gayle. I am a certified foreign language teacher with over 15 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have taught K - 12 and college Freshman composition as well as adukt ESL courses.
I have worked with Wyzant, University Tutors, Philadelphia Language Schools, and College Prep programs. I speak English, Spanish, and French. I have experience teaching and tutoring all three, and I have also taught and tutored SAT Verbal, Essay writing, resumes, and other technical writing assignments.
I love languages, and I strive to make my classroom a fun, learning environment. My lessons are engaging, and I get great results. I motivate students to learn, and aim to build their confidence so they can transfer strategies and techniques from my class to apply to other disciplines.
I love all aspect of languages. I place much emphasis on cultural competency. I love travelling and meeting people from all walks of life. And, I believe languages and food are the primier garteways to start a conversation about understanding each other.

I usually start off by addressing expectations on both ends. I also do some kind of assessment/diagnostic to see where the student is. I want to know if the student just wants to pass a class or if this was something they would be interested in long term.
