About Amanda

Hello!

My name is Amanda Tooley, or Mrs. T to my 5th grade students! I am currently a 5th grade teacher and have been teaching for five years in the classroom.

I can help you with everything in reading and writing! I majored in Teaching English as a Second Language and enjoy helping with all literacy subjects. I have a Master's in Education and have experience in all forms of writing through high school as well as teaching reading.

I can, also, help navigate math up to 6th grade. If you or your child needs some extra assistance in these math areas, I am here to help!

Current Hours: M-F: 4pm-9pm, Sat-Sun. All Day

I LOVE teaching, and I have found that tutoring is a fantastic extension of this work. I am so excited to help each of you achieve in whatever subject we are tackling. Together, you will find that you can do amazing things and accomplish your goals!

I am currently a teacher in Los Angeles Unified School District. This allows me to have current experience being a teacher and how to best serve individual students. Through this experience, I hope to be the best tutor/teacher for you!

About the lesson

I want to first get to know you, your needs, and your goals. From there, we will construct a plan of how we can meet the goals. Depending on the academics, I may offer a brief assessment so I can see where you need the most growth. From there, we will work together to grow and meet your goals in the subjec matter.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
When we discuss, it is important to know what you want out of the sessions and time together. This is your time and money, and I want to help you succeed in your goals. As the student, be vocal about your needs and let me know when something isn't working for you. Together, we can achieve success! :)

My current fee is $50 an hour for a tutoring session. If you would like an extended tutoring session, we can discuss what the session fee will be.
