About Shania
For years, I've helped my peers through tutoring in various subjects; I most frequently help with: General math, statistics, algebra, calculus, general & AP chemistry, and English. I also help by proofreading and editing all forms of writing.
I am a college student myself and understand that many students of all ages struggle to keep up with their coursework when boggled down by topics teachers are not succeeding in helping them understand. Because of this, I will work to find the methods that work for you. I don't only want you to learn, but to recognize how you learn so you are no longer left struggling.
I typically use Miro for online tutoring to share a whiteboard while also holding a voice call to explain all processes. For writing, I proofread, edit, and leave comments and explanations of every change made and work them out with the client.

I love the subjects I teach because I enjoy them and because it feels good to understand something. It feels good to understand new concepts and to know I'm going to ace my essay, presentation, exam, etc.
I want everyone to feel that way. Learning is supposed to be positive. I've seen too many students- adults and children- cry because they're tired of getting bad grades, because they can't finish their work in time, or because someone's made them feel bad for not understanding. It's awful.
I want to help reduce those feelings as much as possible. The right to education means the right to positive learning.
I'm a college student who initially majored in English. Although I switched to Communications, I have taken numerous English classes that cover the following topics: Analyzing texts, writing in different formats(APA, MLA, Chicago...etc.), essay writing, story writing, and poetry writing.

I usually have the student I'm working with send me the assignment along with a rough draft, which does not have to be complete, and edit this while writing down the reasoning for each edit on a copy of the paper to return to them. Then, I ask the student to speak with me through messages or a call about anything they don't understand to work it out.
