About Fitri

I like teaching English especially for teenagers because they are independent and I have a lot of experiences to teach teenagers. I am teaching by using various of methods. I usually give some games to my students such as broken telephone, pantomime, guessing game and they are enthusiast to learn English. Besides that, I teach speaking both dialogue or monologue. I do a role play in the classroom such as role play in fast food restaurant. I give the students a short conversation and they do it with pairs in front of the class. The setting looks like real things because I also prepare the fast food restaurant equipment. For teaching monologue, I ask the students to tell their favorite things or do a simple procedure like how to make a cup of hot chocolate. I can teach all language skills.

I have 5 years of teaching experiences, both formal and informal institution. I used to teach kids, teenagers, and adults. But, mostly I teach teenager. It is fun teaching teenager because not only teaching English but I can share stories and experiences with them and I like to give some advices about school, teacher, relationship, friendship, and etc. I use some methods to teach English like answer and question, communicative language teaching, the natural approach, and audio-lingual methods. Using various methods can make learning English more interesting and the students will be more confident and active in practicing English.

I gain my bachelor of education from Indonesia University of Education in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. Then now, I am doing my master’s degree in School of Postgraduate Studies, English Education program from the same university and I am on the third semester and next year hopefully I am going to start writing my research proposal. I have good TOEFL score and good cumulative GPA.

I usually start teaching with some questions related to the topic of the lesson. it is kind of ice breaking.

I have done some in house trainning related to the structure of syllabus, lesson plan, and curriculum. I also had internship in a vocation school for 6 months. I get some teaching knowledege from my mentor teacher. Then, I also get the other trainning in using technology in teaching english virtually.

About the lesson

I use communicative method to make my student practice speaking and I do not push them to use correct grammar in doing speaking practice

I work with various types of students. I used to teach in boys class and it is very challenging because they are lack of motivation and they do not like reading at all. Then, I used to teach girls class in which the students can be controlled easily.

I will suggest them to seek a teacher who can teach all English language skill and the teacher also has good personality.

I attend a webinar related to english teaching method

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
the teacher can introduce themselves to the teacher and the students can do an intial reading about a chapter of english lesson and then they can ask clearer question about their difficulties in learning.
