About Andrea
I offer English and Mathematics tutoring for all ages. I have 5 years of tutoring experience at every level and am currently a tutor at Trine University. I am also an English Education major with a minor in Mathematics and have a passion for teaching.
I began tutoring in high school and have continued it throughout college. I have gone through few classes on how to tutoring, and just finished another that went in-depth about it as well. Now, I'm taking many education courses and can't wait to get my certification.
I am currently in my second year of college as a Secondary English Education major with a minor in Math.

I usually start by trying to get to know the student and learn a little about them and their past experiences. It gives me a better understanding of what they will need. I also ask about what they want to learn, what they think they need the most help with, and where they'd like to start.
I have worked with students from ages 8-20. As a secondary education major, I am aiming to teach middle school and high school once I have my certification, but I love all ages.
As a student, I look for someone who can understand my learning style and tailor their teaching to me. I look for someone who can teach their subject in many different ways and can really explain to me WHY we are doing something. And of course, I look for someone who knows the topic and has extensive knowledge in the area.

I usually price by the time-length of the session.
- A half-hour session is $15
- An hour session is $30
And increases by $15 for any additional half-hour.
I will negotiate prices though, so things are not always set in stone.
