About Hayley
As a middle school and highschool student, I will admit, I struggled. I used various tutors but I felt like none of them were able to connect with my natural way of thinking. Now as a college graduate I strive to create individualized plans for each student and subject depending on their needs. I am willing to try anything the student believes will help them succeed. My goal is to make each student feel like a friend and a teammate when it comes to learning.
I love the idea of helping students learn to love subjects they once thought they hated. When I am teaching, nothing else matters to me more than the "Aha!" moment, where the puzzle pieces begin fitting together. Overall I genuinely love working with kids and teenagers to help them achieve academic sucess. This is especially personal to me because I struggled in school at times, but once I realized the power created by knowledge, I was hooked on getting A's.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics. I graduated Cum Laude and have taken many upper division science classes such as Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, and will be taking Physics this Fall. For writing, I scored in the 95% percentile on the GRE, and have excelled at writing all my life.

First I will meet with the student and find out their needs. I allow them as much time as they need to explain the course material, the assignments, the teachers expectations, and most importantly, how they feel about it all. After getting to know the student and going through whatever assignment they are struggling with at the moment, I will create a study plan specifically for them and their preferred learning style.
I have experience volunteering with elementary age children and volunteering in hospitals. I have also worked in healthcare for 3 years and I pride myself of my ability to connect with a multitude of different people from various backgrounds.
