About Attayah
My approach to tutoring is student-centered. For reading and writing services, I develop personalized curriculum plans for each of my students. I utilize text sources from topics they enjoy, assign diverse writing assignments, and also aid them in discovering their unique writing "voice." I push my students to critically think with discussion-based analysis and I regard them with compassion and patience.
Qualifications:
BA. Education Studies from Brown University
MSc. Candidate Comparative Social Policy from University of Oxford
Critical Language Scholar in Arabic (Awarded by US Department of State)
Reading/Writing SAT Score: 780
Working with students is one of the greatest joys of my life. I enjoy getting to know them as individuals and challenging them to think critically about what they read, who they are, and how they communicate themselves to the world.
I am a professional SAT test prep teacher for reading and writing, and I have been teaching English to students from elementary school to high school for three years.
I have a bachelor's degree in Education Studies. I have worked as a professional SAT test prep teacher and have also done test prep informally for about a year. I served as a teaching fellow in English literature for a competitive internship program in New York for two years.

I start out with a consultation, which involves speaking to the parents or guardians about what they perceive to be their child's challenges. Next, I will have a separate conversation with the student about how they perceive their own challenges, what they would like to work on, and how I could best shape our sessions to suit their needs or learning styles.
Additionally, I ask the parents or guardians to fill out a questionnaire.
