My typical process for working with a new student is getting to know them on a baseline personal level. It is important to me that we establish a comfortable relationship so I may help pinpoint what is they need help on.
My advice is that a student should seek a compassionate, engaging teacher that encourages you to make mistakes but to also learn from them. Patience is a very important trait that teachers should I have no matter how challenging.
