About Kaylin
Every year I tutor in inner-city DC in Math and Reading for ages K-6. I also taught English lessons in Dominican Republic with my church, and I created my own lesson plans during that time. I have had a teaching internship at my local elementary school through a program called Teachers for Tomorrow at my High School. Before corona I worked at Kumon, and I was able to help preschoolers with reading. For six years I was a Sunday School teacher at my church. I have various experiences with tutoring especially because I have an eight year old sister, and I taught her how to read. I am passionate about teaching, and I believe that every student has a right to education.
I enjoy the fruit that comes out of teaching, and seeing the joy on students' faces when they finally understand something. I know that during these times getting quality education is going to be hard because teachers will not have an immense amount of time with their students face to face. At the end of the day I want kids to have a love for reading and math.
In Freshman year when I started doing inner-city tutoring I saw the need for tutors. It inspired me to seek more opportunities for teaching.
