About Leah

Hello! My name is Leah McEwen and I have been an English teacher for several years.

I began tutoring students while I was in college. After a few years of helping students perfect their writing skills and English comprehention, I graduated and began teaching full time.

I taught English as a second language in Japan for a year and a half right after graduating from college. Since returning to the USA, I've been teaching ESL classes to students in China online.

In addition to teaching basic English grammar, literature, and understanding, I am also proficient at teaching basic and advanced writing. I can teach beginning students or help college and high school students perfect their writing style, content, and voice.

I graduated from the Mississippi University for Women with high honors and a membership in Sigma Tau Delta - the national English honors society. I majored in English literature and had a concentration in creative writing. I also have a university-certified TESOL certificate.

I have been teaching and writing for several years. During my time writing, I have written a novel, have had several short stories published, and have written hundreds of articles for newsprint and online marketing companies.

I can't wait to meet you and/or your student! Together, we can make English easy, fun, and engaging!

I have always loved teaching! Being an English teacher was my dream from the time I was in junior high school.

I have a bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in creative writing. I also have a TESOL certification to teach English as a second language.

I have worked with a variety of foreign students and students learning English as their second language.

I also have experience working alongside native students to enhance their writing and perfect their English skills.

Look for someone with experience and a good working knowledge of their subject. It's one thing to study high-level writing and teaching and another to actively practice it in everyday life.
