About Kaitlin

All of my students will receive tutoring that is specific to their needs and will be delivered in lessons that appeal to their individual learning styles. There is no such thing as "one size fits all" in education. My services are highly individualized and focus on the needs of the students.

I love the excitement of discovery in learning. Each student is unique, like pieces in a puzzle, and I love to see puzzle pieces come together to form a whole picture.

I've always loved working with students and watching those light bulbs go off when something finally connects! It is a joy to be part of that process and help students become better critical thinkers and learners.

I am a certified elementary education teacher. I have a B.A. in communication and an M.A. in elementary education.

About the lesson

I spend a little time getting to know my students and their learning styles and areas of strengths and difficulties. First we work on what a student already knows and then proceed until we find the breakdown (if it is not already known). Then we work to fill in those holes.

Most of my experience has been with lower elementary students.

Don't settle for someone who has the skills but no desire to get to know you as a student. You are the learner. If a teacher ignores that fact and just delivers information like a grocery list, you likely won't learn anything. Learning is personal. Find someone who will help you make it personal to you.

I would have to say my wedding. It was an evening wedding in Florida in early August. At this time of year, rain is expected at a moment's notice. I love rain and was having an indoor wedding, so I was curious to know what the weather would be like that evening. It stayed dry! No one in the wedding party tripped or fainted. The flower girls were adorable and got the job done right! It was a great time of celebration with friends and family.
