About Sydney

I am a 1st Grade Teacher who recently graduated from Samford University in May 2020. I am certified in the areas of Elementary Education K-6th grades, Special Education, and Early Childhood Education.

I have experience tutoring in all grade levels including up to 7th-8th grade.

I am incredibly passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals through various ways. Every student has a different learning style, and I strive to meet the needs of each student no matter how they learn!

I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was little. I chose Samford University because of their highly esteemed Education program. I have entered the teaching world in a time of uncertainty and where Virtual Learnign has become highly prevalent. I continue to learn a vast amount regarding teaching for each individual student. Teaching is my passion!

I have a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Samford University in Birmingham, AL. I graduated in May 2020, and have various experience within different grade levels from my student teaching and internships. I have taught 5th grade Math, as well as 1st grade. I am certified to teach K-6th grades, Special Education, and Early Childhood Education.

About the lesson

I begin the tutoring process with first getting to know the student and their immediate academic needs in which they need assistance with. I will ask the student/parents will voice any concerns they may have before I observe and provide help at the beginning of the first tutoring session. From there, I create a plan to help provide the maximum amount of success for the student. I provide tutoring help on a consistent basis, as consistency is important with learning.

I have worked with all types of students with various academic, social, and developmental needs. I am trained in Special Education Pre-K-6th grade, therefore I have worked with a variety of needs such as behavior, academic, developmental, and more. I stand by the fact that every student is different no matter their needs. Everyone learns different and it is crucial to help each student achieve success in their own way.
