About Amber

I am studying secondary English Education (6-12.) I love working work students and helping them to reach their full potential. I have never tutored online; however, I have tutored in person at middle schools and highschools in my practicum experience. I am almost trained as an ELA of secondary education; I also have a a B1 certificate for studying German. My Facebook profile is Amber Haynes. Hope to see you soon.

I love meeting and working with students. I also love to help people learn.

I have not started teaching. I am teaching for my practicums. I will graduate in May, 2023 with my B.A. in Secondary Education with a content of English.

I work in practicums with students. We do a range of things from working on Grammar to writing poetry.

About the lesson

I like to assess prior knowledge. I scaffold what they know and gradually build onto their knowledge of the subject matter.

I have worked with advanced, standard, and special needs students.

I would say you need a teacher that is opened minded. A teacher that does not mind adjusting their teaching style to fit your needs. As teachers our students success is everything, and we need to find out how to reach that zone of proximal development.

When I came to the school during ACAP testing week. The students that were not in the library with me had not tested yet. I got to play board games with students and get to know different students.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Firstly,teachers need to know what you understand. They have to know where you are in your learning. Secondly, students need to ask their classmates that may understand the material better. I believe peer-reviewing is a strong tactic. I would also say if the student still doesn't understand the task they should come to me because there is something I may have not made clear to my students.
