About Tori

I am passionate about the education of little ones. English and creative writing is where I thrive, as a writer and former preschool teacher , this is reflected in my work ethic. My service stands out on that foundation and in those I tutor!

I enjoy results! I am at my happiest when the material is learned and when each child is proud of themselves.

I actually went to a middle school called teachers prep and spent a lot of time as a child pretending to be a teacher during imaginary play. It always felt second nature to me.

I have a lot of experience in English and writing. I went to a high school for performing arts in which I studied journalism. I wrote my first novel at 16 and was my graduating class salutatorian! In college I studied childhood education and creative writing. I was an A student in my english classes and was a member of the creative writing club! I have worked in public schools and in homes as a tutor. I am currently a preschool teacher and a children and young adult writer!

About the lesson

My typical process in working with a student is to first, get an idea of what they already know by allowing them to come to conclusions on their own before the red marks-with questions. I want them to be confident that it is okay to not know everything because they do know some things.

I have tutored children from kindergarten to twelfth grade and I have taught an infant/toddler immersion classroom as well as a 2s classroom.

I would said go with who you feel you could not only learn from, but who you feel can see your vision the best. Your learning is contingent upon your tutors’ ability to see you clearly, so that the lessons and material can be tailored to you. Wishing you all the best .

A recent event I am fond of is teaching my 2 year old 14 colors which includes beige, his age, several shapes and his numbers 1-10 forward and back words. I’m very proud of this because as a parent we worry if we are doing our best and I want to affirm you all that you are!
