About Madelyn
I am a first grade teacher passionate about literacy skills. Currently, I am working on my masters in school counseling. I am also immersed in educational technology, and am always learning and trying new apps and programs to benefit student learning.
I focus upon a supportive, encouraging and challenging climate to teach my students in, always helping them reach their maximum potential.
I love seeing students grow, and the amazing time of lower elementary school shows amazing leaps for students! Helping them grow and achieve is amazing!
I come from a family of teachers, and worked summer camps when I was younger. I am looking forward to my near career as a school counselor, and will miss seeing students grow in their literacy skills, so I hope tutoring can continue that for me!
I graduated from Penn State in 2017 with my bachelors in elementary education pk-4. I am currently close to finishing my masters degree from Liberty University in School Counseling.
I am a teacher mentor, as well as the team lead at my school where I have been a 1st grade teacher for 4 years.
I have presented at 3 educational technology conferences, and are looking to add some more presentations this upcoming year!

When working with a new students steps would follow as:
1. Getting to know them, their learnings styles and goals. Administrating a pre-asessment to gain current achievement levels to begin with would also take place in needed subjects.
2. After, creating driven and differentiated lessons would follow
3. Making sure parents were informed as well as included on decisions and given material is also a must.
4. Creating a goal plan and reaching those goals would then be set to occur!
I have worked with graes k-3, ESL learners, special education students and also adult language learners.
That we can achieve goals together, no matter the starting and end point.
Maintaing a 4.0 in my masters program, while teaching full time.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What area they feel like they need improvement in, and then having a discussion about what need data surronding their learning is reflecting.
