About Averi
Hello, my name is Averi and I am a Senior in college at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro studying English Secondary Education and Creative Writing. I have done internships in the classrooms with students as well as worked as a Child Care Counselor at the YMCA where I would plan and execute activities with my group of 12 children which included guiding them through homework and helping them with the things they were struggling with.
I've always wanted to become a teacher. When I was a kid I'd pretend I was teaching classes (and my loyal first class of stuffed animals enjoyed it. When I was a Freshman in high school I decided for sure I wanted to become a high school English teacher. It's always been a class I loved, and I'm a huge bookworm and want to become an author one day which solidified my decision.
I worked at the YMCA as a Child Care Counselor leading a group of 12 kids for 3 years.
I've also done a year long internship in a high school English classroom as a part of my English Secondary Education degree which I am in my senior year of.
I will also have completed a minor in Creative Writing when I graduate.
