About Willie

I will teach you how to get gigs to make money at your craft!

Everything! I love leading from the back, and keeping the groove locked in. I love to create and have a voice. I love the power my craft holds, and the history of my idols before me. I am music, and drums are life!

In the military my friends wanted lessons.

I grew up playing in church since I was 5 years old. I played in my own projects in high school and while I was in the Navy. I have taken some theory in college in college with a Houston jazz drummer named Bob Adams. As well as Houston drum teachers like Chuck Payne, Neal Goates and Mark Simmons. I’ve been playing for a living for about 4 years now! I love what I do, I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. Drums is life!

About the lesson

I’ll get them started right away on rudiments to even out there hands. I love to build a groove up on the whole kit. Drums starts with time!

Every kind from beginner to advanced already gigging.

Make sure that drummer plays with a lot of people! Some drummers don’t get out much so they get stuck in there ways. To me, your playing is only relevant if your experienced with other musicians actively. Holding down your own gigs is a good start. Unless of course your just playing for fun and are just trying to be the best drummer you can be.

This past Monday I met one of my favorite drummers these days (which switches all the time!) Maison Guidry. Dude is a beast and will be a legend in time
