About Sue
I began teaching in 2000 at Loyola Marymount University then at Animation Creations, a private enrichment school for kids. I have been teaching adults, kids, and teens drawing, acrylic painting, animation skills, and digital art skills since then. I teach and create representational art from the perspective of a professional illustrator and cartoonist with a history working for shows like The Simpsons, King of the Hill, and Rugrats. I am methodical, patient, friendly, and fun. My students and clients appreciate my attention to their needs and my humor.
I love translating ideas into visuals that are fun to look at, appealing, and deliver the message of the client. When teaching, I enjoy seeing students feel satisfied with their progress.

We discuss their goals via email or telephone, I ask to see any work they currently have to assess the best plan for the first lesson, then I meet with them to engage in a process of demonstration, student practice, and feedback. I give them guidelines for how to reinforce the lesson for the time between the first and second lesson if they want to practice.
