About Kayla
Art has been a passion of mine since I was a young child. I have been heavily involved with the arts as a student, in school, and through extracurriculars. I was involved in art clubs throughout all of my primary education. I also attended magnet art programs for middle and high school where I studied a variety of fine arts techniques and methods. I graduated from college with a BA in Studio Art and Education, and I just recently finished my Masters in Elementary Education. I am currently working as an elementary art teacher in Homestead, Fl to kindergarten first, and second grade students. I have previously taught art to most, if not all, grade levels, K-12th. As I am so passionate about the arts, I want to ensure each student has the opportunity to experience the arts. Many schools or afterschool programs do not go so far in to depth with the arts. Therefore, I would love to be able to offer personalized, one-on-one art lessons for students K-12.

With all students, getting to know them on a personal level is a must. It is important to know the individual as an artist as well. I want to know the students' strengths and weaknesses, as well as their comfort and dedication level. Knowing what makes a student comfortable and able to challenge themselves is how I am able to identify the areas that I need to work on with them in an artistic point of view.
