About Leah

As an Instructor, my lessons are block building from inside out. Setting good discipline to accomplish a successful outcome is a requirement for all we do in life. From making a line to a complex drawing, painting or a mixture of both, success is mesure by the input of the seeker. I’ve been teaching art/life techniques sense 2000…a blessing indeed.

I started teaching art at homeschool co-op's 15 years ago, and currently teaching all ages at Berkeley Arts Council, in Martinsburg.

I had the blessing to study for a couple of months at Corcoran Art school, under the teachings of Carmen Trujillo, Until finances prohibit finishing this path so I worked very hard to empower my education acquiring new skills through books, videos and practicing a lot.

About the lesson

To get to know the student, their goals, and at what level their skills are.

My advice to students looking for an art teacher, the teacher should make you feel at ease with your skill levels but also be able to stretch you to acquire new ones.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
1-Medium they want to learn.
2-What is the passion that motivates them to want to start or continue learning.

3-How many hours they are willing to practice to skillfully master a technique, not to waste money or become frustrated.

4- . If the student wants to learn, never get comfortable where you are be ready to be stretched to acquire new skills.
