About Michelle
One could argue that I have been teaching since I was in 4th grade! I taught Sunday School as a child to 4 year olds while their parents were at Sunday Mass.
I substitute taught throughout my undergrad & recieved my bachelor's in art education. Afterwards, I taught in science musuems, art museums, and eventualy had my own classroom in both elementary & high schools.
Dual bachelor's degree in Studio Art & Art Educaiton, as well as K-12 Visual Art Certification Licensure.
Additionally, I have 5+ years classroom teaching experience and 3+ years informal education experience through museum programming

Assess their current skill level, work together to identify goals as well as blocks, and create customized action steps for each individual student. Rooted in relationship building & emotional regulation.
K-12, though also have experience teaching art at daycare facilities to children as young as 10 months. I also have adult education experience.
In addition to varying age groups, I have also worked with students from a variety of different cultural & socioeconomic backgrounds. The majority of my elementary teaching was for ESL populations, namely Spanish & Arabic. I have taught in both public & private Catholic Schools.
As an art teacher, the hardest thing to hear is "I can't draw." Often accompanied by, "I'm not an artist." - said or unsaid.
Art is not a magical talent, but a skill that can be mastered. You can do anything with a bit of help!
