About Jill

My culinary education and vast experience in hospitality industry as a chef, caterer, event planner and salesperson offers each student a range of skills and creativity.

Hands on teaching with individuals or your small group/family. Learning skills for a lifetime, rather than just a recipe.

I have pride in teaching others how to safely prepare food whether it's learning basic skills, daily meals, healthy changes or entertaining. I believe that cooking for and with your family/friends creates memories and traditions. While teaching individuals, I strive for the satisfaction of seeing my students growth of confidence in the kitchen.

Training in the industry and the love of cooking with others that is found in our kitchens!

My years of experience and culinary school. Not only this, but I find my passion for teaching others what I love to do is the best!

About the lesson

We will start with a phone call with me, to discuss this first lesson, and that your expectations are met. I will listen to you and your ideas and variety of cuisine you're interested in cooking. I will follow up with a written outline of our first class.

As a trained chef I will provide hands on direction and recipes. We will incorporate knife skills and mis en place in every lesson. You'll find that this is beneficial and fun!

I encourage students to learn with their own tools and in their own surroundings, this class takes place in your home.

I have worked with the beginners who are intimidated in the kitchen to students who excel and entertain in their homes.

Find someone who will listen to you. The teacher should be able to adapt to you and your needs, not just what they want to teach.

I have many to choose from, recently I have been working with couples who are excited to learn new skills and techniques. To see that they are learning so much more than just following a recipe. The laughter and comraderie in the kitchen is the best!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
Be honest about yourself and what you expect from the class. Start with basics if thats where you need attention, then everything else will come easier. Ask questions, but also be prepared to talk about yourself, your skills and your kitchen.

If the class for 1-2 people is roughly two hours long and the cost is $100. The cost of food will be additional, and this is usually minimal.
