My son was attending Saturday Chinese School for 3 years prior our lessons with Melody. The Saturday Chinese School was very structured and it was heavily focused on writing rather than speaking. My son was very frustrated and didn’t enjoy attending Saturday Chinese School. We decided to try a private tutor instead and found Melody. Not only is my son speaking more Chinese in the few months we started our leases than he ever did in Saturday Chinese School, he really enjoys his lessons. Melody is able to tailor the lessons and find ways to make it interesting and fun to him. Melody is patient and a fun teacher. She sends out a summary after every lesson so I know what he learned. There are homework and we do have to practice during the weekday but this is the first time my son is actually practicing his homework on his own. I highly recommend Melody.

Melody was quick and responsive from our initial meeting. She was well organized and gave a detailed plan regarding our child. She gave us updated reports and study materials after every session. We are very satisfied by her level of professionalism. In regards to her tutoring, she connected well to my child. Throughout our sessions, I could see significant improvement in my child's language development. From speaking to writing to identifying, there was remarkable progress being made. We look forward to having Melody continue tutoring our child.

Tutors are easy to come by, but unicorn tutors are rare. Melody has definitely exceeded expectations by demonstrating her unique skillsets and professionalism - she's trilingual (Mandarin, Korean, English), patient, caring, respectful, etc.

At first, my wife (Korean) and I (Chinese) were hesitant in committing to tutoring programs - we had a lot of bad experiences - but decided to take on a different approach and interview Melody.

Melody presented us both her core values and game plan. She first gave my son & daughter (Charlie 8, Charlene 13) individual assessment exams to identify their strengths & weakness. Melody would then create and execute curriculum specifically for each child during their tutoring sessions; 1-hour every Saturday.

After 2 weeks working with Melody, my children has shown improvement and felt confident enough to practice speaking their native languages at home (English was their first language). Practice makes perfect!

Fast forward, my wife and I are impressed by how quickly of an impact Melody has made in our lives. Each week is night and day! My family feels extremely lucky and appreciative of Melody for being more than just a tutor, but also an education consultant.

If other parents had similar experiences with bad investments in tutoring programs, or in need of Korean/Chinese tutor, give Melody a chance and they won't be disappointed. My hope is to give other parents relief in finding the unicorn tutor we've all been searching for.

Melody was a great tutor teaching my sons Chinese. As a second generation immigrant, my Chinese is not very good, and we needed a tutor to help my sons learn how to read, write, and speak proper Chinese.

Melody is fluent in both English and Chinese, with clear pronunciation which made it easier for my sons to understand and learn in zoom. She is also always professional and friendly, and provides us with great feedback on how our sons are doing. I would highly recommend her as a tutor for anyone trying to learn Chinese.

Melody really helped me with my Mandarin skills. I have been trying to learn Mandarin for a few years. All the years of taking Chinese in high school and college...Melody is the only one who helped me speak better and with confidence. Thank you Melody!

Melody really helped my daughter out. Melody was thorough in her preparation and evaluation. She was patient and took the initiative to bring out concerns she had. Although we tutored online, melody's personality really shined through and she was able to connect with my daughter. Melody is patient and kind. She is flexible with scheduling and was able to meet the needs for our son Camden. My husband and I both have busy schedules so we really appreciated Melody being able to work with us to tutor our son in the mornings. Our interview process was simple and easy. Melody is very attentive and spent much of the time asking questions about our son which we really appreciated.

Melody's patience and ability to communicate effectively with my daughter has helped increase her grades in Chinese. Our daughter's overall proficiency as well as desire to learn has improved dramatically, especially given the fact that it is online tutoring. It has been over a year since we hired melody during the pandemic and we have no plans to stopping.

Melody was incredibly attentive and detail oriented with my son. My family has tried different tutors without much progression. However Melody was incredibly patient and caring towards my son and noticed areas he needed work on. I was surprised by the level of focus she was able to keep with my son given the pandemic and it was via Zoom and within weeks he was using words that he previously had trouble with. She is patient and has a positive attitude, which is important for teaching young children. She is punctual and reliable. The lessons are age-appropriate. We have been using her lessons weekly.
