About Sidney

I have been tutroing for over six years. I tutored middle school students throughout high school and tutored university students in subjects including genetics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, human physiology and evolution throughout my time at UC Santa Cruz. I graduated with highest honors majoring in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biolody and will be applying to medical school this year with hopes of becoming neonatologist, caring for sick or premature babies. I am an excellent tutor because I recognize multiple learning styles and make it a priority that my students feel comfortable telling me what they don't understand and also if I am not explaning something well. Most importantly, I care about whether my students succeed.

I started off helping my 7th grade neighbor with her math homework and her mom asked me to continue to help with pay. From there I started to help her friends and realized I was quite good at it. I also hold a substitute teaching permit in the state of California.

I have been tutoring for over six years. I tutored middle school students throughout high school and tutored university students in subjects including genetics, organic chemistry, biochemistry, human physiology and evolution throughout my time at UC Santa Cruz. I graduated with highest honors majoring in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biolody and will be applying to medical school this year .Most importantly, I care about whether my students succeed.

About the lesson

I like to gain understanding of where a student is by seeing how well they do on a few practice problems and asking them about how they believe they learn best. I then ask the student what they expect from me and also explain what I expect from them. All I ask is they come prepared to work and that they are honest about what they don't understand.

I have worked with students age 11-40.

My advice is to come to tutoring with a positive attitude and a good idea of what you don't understand.
