About Samuel
I started out teaching high school students after I completed bachelors degree and while working on my Masters degree. Eventually I became a Teaching Assistant and taught Bachelor's level students for a number of years. Once I was installed in a professional lab, I trained visiting scientists who were Master's level and PhD Level students in their home univiersities.
I have a PhD in Medical Entomology, a Masters of Science in Mollecular Cell Biology obtained with Distinction (with Honors), and a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry with High Honors. I have collaborated with the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia, and worked for the Institut Pasteur in France on projects of national importance.

I begin with a conversational assessment to:
1) learn the students actual attainment level
2) to discuss what their particular challenges are
3) to clarify their goals
Then we generate a plan together to specify the steps that we will take, and topics we will cover in order to establish a foundation for understanding the topics of interest.
After a predetermined amount of time, we will reconvene to discuss our progress in relation to our overall goal(s) to determine if we are on track to perfect understanding.
I have taught the sciences to high school students, college students, Master's level and PhD level students.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
It is good for students to know their problem areas, and they should write down their goals or desired outcome of the tutoring relationship. This will allow the tutor to figure out if the students needs are within the tutor's area of expertise, and the student will be invested in the outcome before the tutor lays out a particular plan.
