About Peter

I am a 30 year high tech executive who held Director/hiring positions at Cisco, Future Electronics and Pitney Bowes. My passion has always been in hiring and developing talent. I have hired well over 100 employees and focused on converting college interns into full time employees. I started Job-Lander with other executives, educators, students and parents to offer a broad range of skills and relevant content to help students get hired.

We have developed a holistic approach to assist high school, college and displaced workers in landing internships and full time employement. To date we have graduated over 300 students and assisted many in landing both internships and full time roles following graduation.

We use our training approach that features 4 stages including;

-Helping students Identifying roles that align with passions, interests and skills.

-Internship and full time job research and preparation for the video based application process

-Custom resume and cover letter creation, and social media preparation (LinkedIn, Handshake, Glass Door ect)

-Interview preparation and execution (video preparation and critiquing), internview follow up and role negotiation

We successfully assisted students in landing internships and full time roles in the following areas;

High technology manufacturing

Software development

Internet applications and cloud computing

Bio-technology, pharma and advanced vaccine research

Working in one on one settings, small group "buddy teams" and larger "success teams" we offer a solution for all. We offer free webinars to the less fortune students and are committed to giving back 15% of revenue for scholarship opportunities.

Thanks for your consideration, and I look forward to next steps and getting started.

My passion has always been coaching students in sports and career strategies. Through out my 30 years as a Director in high tech, I have traveled the world assisting large teams and smaller management groups in working to solve complex business issues.

This experience has assisted me in creating my Job-Lander solution with my team to incorporate cultural and gender related strategies to leverage the strength of all members in the workplace.

My greatest joy has come from hiring interns, mentoring them and converting them to full time employees.

My work to "level the playing field" for less furtunate students has allowed students at all levels to compete equally no matter what their families financial status.

I was a sporting coach and college athlete. I continued through out my corporate roles to work with local recreational organizations to work with high school student coaching basketball, football and basketball.

I was given the mandate early on in my corporate life to constantly hire, evaluate talent and promote promising employees.

Following my successful corporate career I wanted to get back to my passion of working with students who needed assistance in understanding what comes next.

With Covid and the great uncertainty in the job market, my job is more critical than ever. I am driven and I want to make the difference in young peoples lives.

I have 30 years experience in the area of hiring and developing talent in some of the most successful global companies in the world. I have participated in leadership development and executive training at Harvard University and Stanford University. I was hand selected by Cisco's Executive VP of Employee Development to implement and run training programs to hire interns from local and regional colleges and convert them to full time employees. I have worked with over 300 local Youth Advisory Students in Norther California to do large group webinars and one on one coaching.

Internview preparation and execution via video rehearsals and critiquing.

Students can sign up for one on one coaching, small "buddy groups" (up to 4 students) and larger "success teams" ( up to 25 students).

I have worked with roughly 300 students from high schools, Youth Advisory Councels, community colleges and larger universities including Syracuse University, Boston University, North Eastern University and others.

This is a highly personal experience. You will need to open up and share some sentitive thoughts about what you really want in your college experience and career. Too many students are heavily influenced by what others think they should be rather than what they want to be. This is hard.

I take a safe and personal approach not to undermind parents or teaches but rather help students take an inward reflective approach that is private and personal.

You must be comfortable with the turor you work with and complete trust must be evident from the start. One size does not fit all here.

This is what I do and have done for 30 years. I have done this development at all levels from Sr. Managers to high school students. I love my work and this will be very clear once the engagment begins.

I have been working with a high school student over the last 2 years on a scholarship basis. This student was afraid of her own shadow when we started. She has since organized rallies against guns and school mass shootings. She is now involved in serveral internships focused on addressing the impact of plastic in our environment and other preservation campaigns. I have  helped her organize her accomplishements, communicate her accomplishements and deliver a strong case for her scholarship acceptance for her recently awarded acceptance in a pre medical program at the University of Washinton.

I am also thrilled to be working with the Navajo Nation and the Girls and Boys Clubs to offer scholarship coaching opporunities for students in need.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
How can I be best equipped in these critical areas:

1 How can I best identify my passions, interests and skills that will allow me to be happy and succeed in the job world.

2 How can I best establish valuable network of connections who will help open the door to opportunities

3 Where should I look for internships and jobs that align with my passions skills and interests.

4 How do I customize my resume with a focus on showing the interviewer that you have the interest and the skills to help her/him be succussful (win win )

5 How can I make sure that I am prepared and can nail the interview in this new virtual world.
