About Riley

As a college student, I have a unique perspective on academics and study habits. I am very familiar with educating different learning styles, and have worked as a tutor in the past. I got a superscore of a 33 on the ACT, with a perfect 36 in the English portion, so I have many testing taking strategies that I know work because I utalize them myself.

I love getting to help kids and college aged students understand a particularly challenging lesson. I love helping others to grasp the importance of education, and to show them just how fun learning can really be!

I have always had a passion for learning and educating others. When I was in junior high our Junior National Honor Society had a peer mentor tutoring program. Then in high school I joined the National Honor Society and began tutoring with them!

I am a college student, so studying and learning is my job right now! In high school I worked as a tutor through the National Honor Society. I also have high test scores and a 3.7 GPA, so I take academics very seriously.

I have been working with kids for as long as I can remember. I have been a babysitter for children of all ages for the last seven years, and worked at a children's theater for the last three years as well.

About the lesson

When a new student comes to me for a tutoring session, I like for them to send me a list of topics and questions prior to our meeting. I want to make sure I have thouroughly reviewed the material they want to cover! Ultimately, the session is about the student and I want to cater each session to each unique student's needs!

I have worked with students of all ages! From pre-K up until 12th grade. Since I've been in college I've begun also working with college freshman and sophomores on their studies.

My biggest piece of advice is to find a teacher that will change their teaching style to fit YOUR learning needs. Find a teacher that is willing to prepare prior to your lesson. Make sure that your teacher understands your needs and wants to see that you are successful!

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
The two biggest questions to think about are "What are the topics I struggle with most?" and "What is my learning style? How will I learn the best?"

Giving a teacher the answer to both of those questions is essential to make the most out of your tutoring session.

Prices are negotiable, but I typically charge $25 for a 30 minute lesson, or $45 for a 60 minute lesson.

If a student would like a mock interview session, I have 20 minute slots for $30 and 45 minute slots for $55.
