About Rachael
I am currently a rising 2nd year medical student at Stony Brook University School of Medicine. Previously, I was a neuroscience major at Bucknell University. By faculty recommendation, I tutored and facilitated study groups for Bucknell students in molecular biology, organismal biology, genetics, organic chemistry, and physics. I additionally took classes across the hard and social sciences such as biochemistry and pyschology. Working with a range of students, I have developed skills to help students achieve diverse goals from passing a course, to earning an 'A', to achieving high marks on standardized tests.
Most important to the process, I have learned, is the connection between the client and myself. Tutoring has given me the tools to connect to students who may be embarassed to need a tutor, ashamed to be failing, or overwelmed by the course load. My desire to establish that bond through patience, supprt, and humor have prepared me to clearly communicate with others and serve as their confidante and cheerleader.
