About Summer

I've been tutoring high school students and peers privately for over 10 years in a variety of general and advanced science topics; my specialties lie in molecular biology, environmental science, biotechnological sciences and chemistry. I have been a guest lecturer at the Santa Rosa Junior College in the Life Science Department on topics including how to be a successful student in biological and associated sciences.

My educational experience started in Sebastopol, California where I was born and raised. Early on I knew I had a passion for understanding the physical world around me, and quickly realized that would be the focus of my career. I found a home at UC Berkeley where I studied Molecular Envonmental Biology with and emphasis on human health and the environment. I participated in a population genetics field/lab study throughout my time as an undergraduated.

Currently, I am a full time employee at a biotechnology company in the Bay Area where I work in the production sciences department. My current job role has brought me a wealth of experience in applied sciences, scalable processes, and mammalian cell culture. Additionally, I am a Masters of Science candidate at Johns Hopkins University for Indicidualized Genomics and Health with an emphasis in bioinformatics.

I have always loved sharing and passing information on to others; There is nothing more inspiring than seeing people, young and old, become passionate about these topics that I love. We can work together to find the best format for you to assimilate any and all necessary information. I look forward to working with you to achieve your educational goals!
