About Tyler

My name is Tyler and I have a passion for learning and helping others learn. I was a Biology and Math tutor for 2 years while going to school at Doane University in Crete, NE. I dedicated a lot of time and effort to my students by understanding their curriculum, meeting with their professors regularly and preparing weekly study guides and quizzes. Seeing their success was truly rewarding for me.

I graduated with a Biology degree and recently obtained my Master's degree in Health Sciences at West Virginia University School of Medicine. I am currently a licensed EMT and a full-time Pathologists' Assistant at Nebraska Medicine. I dedicate a large portion of my job teaching Pathology residents (our future doctors)! I can offer a unique teaching dynamic because I literally practice what I teach every day! As a Pathologists' Assistant, I am considered an expert in Anatomy and Pathology. In addition, I have a strong educational background in Physiology and Biology.

My goal is to use my expertise to contribute to the educational development of others, no matter what career paths they are on. I want to inspire others to value learning the way I do!

I have a Biology degree and tutored Biology and Math for 2 years.

I have a Masters degree in Health sciences, in which

I am a Pathologists' Assistant, in which I use my anatomy and pathology expertise to teach residents.

I am a licensed EMT.

About the lesson

First I try and discover what the student already knows about the subject. I want my students to understand that they are smart and they certainly have the tools to succeed.

Second I try and understand the student's goals. What areas does the student wish to improve? The goals of the student will ultimately drive the learning process.

Third, I try and understand the curriculum the student is working with. What textbook is the student working out of? What additional resources is the student using? What particular questions does the student have?

Finally, the student and I come up with an action plan. I answer questions, offer study guides and come up with quizzes.

We will monitor improvement and adjust accordingly.
