About Shaun

I have been in the educational sector for the past 5 years. I have been a general education teacher in Title 1 schools, as well as a special education teacher aide for schools - both at the junior high and elementary school level.

I have a Generalist 4-8 certification.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Channelview High School, and Summa Cum Laude from University of Houston - Downtown

I connect very well with students, and will do my utmost best to drive home important subject material. I enjoy the conneciton I make with students and find happiness in seeing them succeed in their endeavors.

I was one of the students that struggled during Junior High, and was let slip through the cracks. I vowed to myself that I wanted to advocate those not performing as well as a system would want them to, and guide them in their journey to success.

I have been a teacher of middle school students for 3 years.

I have 1.5 years of student teaching.

I have experience teaching special education students, having worked as a special education teacher aide for the past two years - both at the middle school and elementary school level.

About the lesson

I will assess what they know using a single initial assessment, and then draft a plan to target their specific weaknesses while also building up on their strengths as well.

I've worked with several students of mild learning disorders, as well as low-economic and high-risk students.

Look for a teacher who is willing to work through challenges and areas of weakness, as well as be honest and friendly in their dealings.

If required to tutor in-person, the rate is $58/hour.
