About Taylor

I have been tutoring Calculus since I worked as a Math tutor in college where I finished with A's in Calculus 1, 2, and 3 as well as linear algebra. I tutored all levels of students from basic algebra to high level calculus for 5+ years. I excel in explaining math through personalized examples that help each student understand the subject in their own way. I have helped thousands of students in my life and would love to help as many others as I can. I currently work as an Mechanical Engineer for Boeing where I continue to expand my math skills and capabilities.

I love helping people understand difficult subjects by relating that subject to something personal in their life. I enjoy getting to know people on a more personal level that helps me understand what might help them to better learn.

I have a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from BYU and a Masters Degree in Systems Architecting and Engineering from University of Southern California (USC). I worked as a math tutor for all levels while finishing my undergraduate degree.

About the lesson

I usually spend about 5-10 minutes getting to know my students during the first class then focus on which subjects are most challenging to them.

I love working with all students who need help in the following subjects.

- Calculus and Pre-Calculus

- Trigonometry

- Algebra and Geometry

I would say to focus on tutors who can tailor their teaching and examples to help you personally. Tutors who can teach the same principle in many different ways are always the best because some students have a hard time learning from just one method.

I charge $30 for a standard 1 hour session and an extra $5 if you want me to travel to your house. I am more than happy to extend each lesson to answer additional questions if needed.
