About Silvia
I am currently a teacher assistant for a headstart program . I am currently working on a Bachelors degree in Child And Adolescent development. I have been working in the education field for about 3 years. Teaching children new skills and helping them reach their goals is such a rewarding feeling. I struggled as a child in middle school and high school. Coming from a family who did not have a high education or knowledge about tutoring services, it was challenging to get the help I needed. I would love to work with students so that I can be that person students can count on when they need help.
What I enjoy about my profession is I get to build relationships with students and help them reach their goals. I not only help them build their goals academically but goals that they wish to accomplish in their life as well. I enjoy seeing my students learn new skills and be proud of themselves. I also enjoy working with students because not only do they learn from me but I learn from them as well. I believe that everyone can learn something new from everyone.
I have an Associates in Early Childhood Education . I am currently enrolled to complete a Bachelors degree in Early Childhood and adolescent development.

When I first meet a student, I ask questions to get to know them. I ask them how do they like the subject or class they are in. I also ask questions like what do they enjoy doing at school. What is there favorite subject, what is the best way they think they learn? Then, I look at what they are working on and help them learn the material or skill in a way that they are able to learn. Everyone learns in a different manner, so I try my best to create a strategy that the student will learn the best.
