About Alexia

I love chemistry and biology, so much so that I am studying Food Science and Technology with a minor in Nutrition. I am also fluent in the language of Spanish, this being my native language. Therefore, I can teach in either English or Spanish, as preferred by the student.

I am very tolerant, I love explaining things and also learning new concepts, so if I need to do further research to help you better understand a subject from school I will happily do so. I also consider myself as a friendly person, while also being very focused and work-oriented, making the tutoring session an enjoyable time but also a very productive hour. I have helped my boyfriend and best friend not only pass but As their calculus and chemistry class correspondingly by giving them tips on how to study and organize their time wisely to prepare for an exam. I have a GPA of 3.895 and three years of college experience.

I took a coaching certification related to helping people achieve their goals since I love setting goals and working towards them, making me want to encourage people as well to challenge themselves. These goals are mainly fitness and nutrition-related but I also love guiding people through a better study system and help them succeed at school.

About the lesson

I like for them to tell me ahead of time what topic they are learning in class so I can get familiarized with the concepts and refresh my mind. That way, the hour or hours for tutoring can be dedicated to the explanation of the homework or activity to the student, instead of finding out what we are supposed to do in that session.

My age mainly, but also my brother that is 4 years younger than me.

Look for someone that is passionate about teaching, not someone that just appears interested in the pay. Money should be a bonus but spending time helping someone succeed should be the main motivation for tutoring.

They should really look deep into their areas of improvement, analyzing what is making them not understand the subject entirely so that they can work on that with their tutors.
