About Ian
I am a college freshman, looking to help out anyone who needs help! Although this is my first time doing online tutoring, I have tutored people in person since I was in eighth grade through my school. I am attending Kelley school of business in the fall of 2020, and took AP and advanced classes all four years of high school. My strongest subjects are math and chemistry, but I additionally have strong experience with writing. I am easy going with students, and am willing to help anyone no matter where they are starting.
I have taken peer tutor classes in middle and high school, where I was able to help a variety of students with different needs. My first peer tutor class, in 8th grade, required me to learn how to work better with students with learning disabilities. However, once I started high school, I was exposed to a wider variety of students, with different personalities. It was during this time, where, with trial and error, I became increasingly versatile in helping students with a variety of needs.

With a new student, I always start off by talking with them and assessing their personality. This allows me to have a better picture of which approaches I should take when trying to help them. Also, I have the student breakdown the topics covered in each lesson to help them feel less overwhelmed.
