About Kyle

What makes my services stand out is the quality, variety and experience of instruction provided. I pride myself on being personable and relatable to my students thus creating a comfortable learning environment for my students. Especially when it comes to tutoring, students can be very self-conscious about the learning process and being able to take that edge off is crucial when teaching. Additionally I have experience working with a wide variety of students. I have successfully taught/worked with historically disadvantaged/marginalized students as well as students of more affluent means. Being able to cater to these youths and find the way in which they learn best is what makes the difference between good teachers and great teachers. In short, my services are able to cater to any and all students well.

I went through a career change at 25 and really thought about a career that would offer me variety and challenge while helping others. So my sister recommended that I look into teaching (as it is somewhat a family business) and I haven't looked back.

I have a Bachelors from UCSB and a Masters in Education from Phoenix. I currently work as a chemistry teacher for San Dimas High School.

About the lesson

I first start by asking what type of learning suits them best additionally what their interests are. This way I can leverage real world examples and analogies and present them in a way that reaches the student. After that we start addressing areas of weakness or areas they wish to improve on.

Quite literally all types. From students with IEPs to those who are adnvaced even by AP standards. Students from low-income backgrounds to students from very affluent families.

Make sure that you find a tutor who is going to relate the information to you. The best teacher is not the teacher that knows the most or the one who is the most intelligent, it is the teacher that can help the most students make sense of the material.

It isn't worked related but getting engaged is my current super fond memory.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
They aren't so much questions as it is a checklist of things you need to have considered. Make sure you have thought about what areas of the content you struggle with, be as specific as you can as, "I don't get any of it" is not helpful. We need a place to start so think about where is the first moment you are confused. Then think about why it is confusing. If you can answer those two questions then it will be much easier for us to fix them.
