About Ethan

Hello! I am a University of Michigan student in my last semester. Though my major is history, I love to teach some math and science too. I have several years of experience in teaching and coaching young people of all ages. I love to tutor and teach in an engaging and fun way. Whether you or your loved one needs help in maths, writing, history, or science, I would be thrilled to meet you!

I coached/taught fencing for six years and I enjoyed it immensely. I love to see progress and a smile!

I am going into my last semester at the University of Michigan. I am a history major which includes intensive study of history and writing. I also teach lower level math and science classes. I received a 5 on AP Biology in high school and have taken maths through calculus.

About the lesson

I like to meet the student and get to know how they learn best. I think tutoring is often sought out because the "typical" way of learning is not for everyone. When focussing on each person individually it makes for a better and more productive environment. A first meeting to determine style and to allow the student to meet me and decide is key.

I have worked with students from many different backgrounds and aged from 5 to 18

A first meeting is key to ensure the student and tutor are compatible and to assess the abilites of the tutor.

It is hard to pick a specific event. Having a student achieve their goals and have fun doing it is my favorite.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
I think that teachers are supposed to be there for students in all ways. Therefore, I would encourage any student to talk whenever they would like.
