About Tina

I can adapt to the students needs and abilities very easily. I also have experience as a professional actor both on stage, television and film and can provide insight into the industry.

I love seeing students accomplish things they thought they couldn't. I love helping them create characters and build their confidence.

I have always wanted to be a teacher. I was the kid in school that would ask the teacher for left over worksheets at the end of the school year so I could "teach" school over the summer.

I have my Masters in Education in Theatre in addition to my B.S. in Theatre. I have been directing performers and performances professionally for 14 years.

About the lesson

Our first meeting is a "get to know you" where I become familiar with the student's experience and expectations. From there, I assess the students knowledge and goals before moving into either basic acting, monolgue or script work.

Over the years, I have worked with students/actors age 3 - 97 of varying abilities.

Find someone who understands your goals and is going to work toward those goals with you. Your plan should be as individualized as you are.

Just recently, I spent time with a young actress breaking down a script with her for an upcoming feature film she is in. We went through it line by line and one of the funniest parts was how many ways she could say "Daddy" and how just a small change in her voice and/or body language changed the entire meaning of the word.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What do you hope to gain from this? Are you working toward a specific audition or career goal or just interested in acting in general? Are you willing to put in the time, outside of your lesson, working on your craft/monologue/script/scene?
